Walkaloosa Horse Association FAQ

What patterns do Walkaloosa Horses come in?
Walkaloosa horses can come in many patterns, some wildly colored and some more sedate. 
There are four Appaloosa characteristics (LP) traits. They are

  • Coat Patterns
  • Mottled Skin
  • White Sclera
  • Striped Hooves
Of course the Walkaloosa's most distinguishing feature is its spotted coat, which can be found in various patterns. Walkaloosa coat patterns are:
  • Blanket
  • Spots
  • Blanket with Spots
  • Roan
  • Roan Blanket
  • Roan Blanket with Spots
The patterns and spots can arrainge themselves in many ways! You will see:
  • Dark body color with light spots - Snowflake.
  • White body with dark spots - Leopard.
  • Frost coat with white specks- LP Roan.
  • Marble coat, sort of molted all over.
  • Blanket Pattern - White area (usually with dark spots) over the hips.
  • Solid cost with only Appaloosa characteristics.
